Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Daughters of Triton, the premier female-identifying a cappella group at UCSD!

For the 2019-2020 academic year, we will be holding auditions from Thursday, September 26 to Thursday, October 3. You can sign-up for auditions here! Or, check out our Facebook Event for more details!

We accept all levels of singing—from it’s singing in the shower to choir experience—and we want to hear your voice! Don’t worry if sight-reading isn’t your strong suit, we love people who try it out and give it their best! The same goes for vocal percussion/beatboxing.

Here are some components to expect at your audition:

1) Perform a 1-minute solo of a song that best showcases your voice!
2) Tonal Memory
3) Aural Testing

You will be asked to sight-read and read rhythms, but don’t worry if you do not know how! It is not necessary for auditions, and we’d just like you to give it your best shot! Also, if you know how to beatbox, we would love to hear you drop some beats!

Lastly, you may be asked to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” (lyrics will be provided)!

We hope you consider auditioning this fall, and we’re so excited to hear all of your lovely voices! Again, here is the audition sign-up link. Be sure to also follow our Instagram and Facebook pages to stay updated for more information! See you then 🎵
